Handmade in South Africa
Traditionally beadwork of the Zulu’s is the domain of women; beading skills are used to create traditional Zulu jewellery and as decoration on clothing. Passed on from mother to daughter through generations, the colourful craft is always evolving.
Created as a one-off piece using cardboard, fabric, wire and glass beads, each Zulu Doll tells a story. Featuring a red hat called a Makoti, this doll symbolises a married Zulu woman.
Crafted by a renowned Zulu bead artist whose beautiful story bead dolls have been exhibited both locally and internationally, this beautiful doll is a collectors piece. Display as a singular art piece or group several dolls together on a table or shelf.
