Inspiration
Handmade in Kenya
The Maasai are East Africa's most recognisable tribe, with their brightly coloured cloth and exquisite jewellery. Leather and bead work crafted by women, has a long history amongst the Maasai who articulate their identity and position in society through body ornaments.

Creation
Beads are hand stitched firmly to a leather strap to form a colourful and intricate design. A handmade brass buckle and brass lead ring is double stitched into place on the end of the strap. The collar is then finished with a series of five punched holes for fastening.
